Where I Get Coffee in Tokyo

Hello, everyone. How’s it going? I hope you are having a good day! Even during the hardest time, let’s have hope and….. coffee.

On this blog post, I will share my favourite places to get caffeinated in Tokyo, but not just that, they are my favourite coffee shops for good reasons. I wrote about My Favourite Coffee Shops in Tokyo a while back but it has been updated since then so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to share my updated coffee place favourites.  Even if you are not a coffee drinker, I hope you enjoy reading and getting to know some cute cafes in Tokyo 🙂

*Listed coffee shops are not in any particular order

1. Mighty Step Coffee

Mighty Steps Coffee Stop is located in the central area of Tokyo. One of the best things I LOVE about them is that they have amazing gelato. As you can see on the picture above, it is gorgeous. I promise you won’t regret it. They have lots of flavours to try from. Every flavour is so tasty and visually so sexy, if I try to compliment in the best way. They are usually open till 10pm which is another good point, especially if you are heading there after work or late night chat with your friends.

2.  Eight Coffee

My friend took me to Eight Coffee and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is similar to the Cafe Kitsune in Omotesando, if you have been there. Very clean, minimalistic and the use of their space is well-thought out. My favourite is their iced latte. Their espresso is really good. Also, I cannot end this blog without mentioning their chocolate chip cookies. It is one of the best in town. Soft and chocolate chip melting says it all. First time I went there, I could not resist getting my second one and I remember I surprised my friend… but you know, cookies! I had to. It is a perfect coffee place to take one on the go or stay for a couple of hours if it’s not crowded. They are located only a few minutes walk from Aoyama Icchome Station so it is quite convenient if you are in the area.

3. Little Nap Coffee

Little Nap Coffee Stand is located right beside the Yoyogi Park, one of the biggest parks in Tokyo. I have been there only once but it is a perfect spot to visit especially during the summer time. You can grab a good cup of coffee and walk around the park or chill on the grass for a cute little picnic. I miss going to coffee shops with my beautiful friend Linnea!

4. The Local Coffee Stand

The Local Coffee Stand is one of my all time favourite coffee shops in Tokyo. It is the sister/brother shop of Glitch Coffee and I love going to both of them. It is located in between Omotesando and Shibuya. Walking distance from either station. One of the best things about them is the people. I love friendly baristas there who are always so welcoming. It has second floor where you can spend hours reading books, working on projects or chatting with friends. They recently added white mocha to their menu and it is the bomb. It is so delicious. I enjoy espresso drink when I am out at coffee shops because I don’t have espresso machine at hime. If you have a chance to visit them, I highly recommend their white mocha. And they always have unique selections of single origin beans so that’s always a plus for genuine coffee drinkers. If you do not drink coffee, don’t you worry. They have an amazing chai called Prana Chai, which they make with soy milk. It is so tasty…

5. iki Espresso

iki Espresso is located in one of the most well-know coffee places called Kiyosumi Shirakawa. What I like about them is that it is quite spacious. Most of the coffee shops in Tokyo is very small and most of them are coffee stands. I like that I can sit and relax with some space there. It may not be in the most convenient place to grab a coffee but it is a perfect place especially if you want to have a laptop club or read books by yourself. The wide entrance creates a very refreshing atmosphere when the sun shines through, and very calming when the sun sets as it gets more quiet. Their flat white never disappoint you. They have a great variety of food menu so you can enjoy both food and coffee.

That was my 5 coffee shops I often visit and get caffeinated 😉 I hope you enjoy reading and find it helpful if you are on a hunt for a new coffee shop to go.

Please tell me your favourite coffee shop either in Tokyo or anywhere in the world! Also, these are my two favourite websites that I use when I am on a hunt for coffee shops. They have tremendous amount of coffee shops information and very helpful. Check them out if you are interested!
