Breakfast Ideas | The Best Way to Start Your Day

Hello, everyone. Oh another week, another Monday… Don’t worry we all go through “post Sunday depression” after our weekends. But with good breakfast, we can always start our week much happier with good energy. I always start my day with a glass of lemon water. I simply slice a few lemons and put them into a glass, pour some hot water and cold water. It is the first thing I do after I wake up. Lemon water in the morning boosts your immune system. Took a note from Miranda Kerr on this, so thank you Miranda! I have been doing this for about half a year now and I haven’t got any cold. When I am not too hungry in the morning, I go for the banana oatmeal with berries and honey (or maple syrup) on top. When the juice from the berries is mixed with oatmeal and honey, it is phenomenal. Even if you are not hungry in the morning, your body need the energy to function, and to last until the lunch time. I am more productive and am able to stay focused when I have breakfast in the morning. I cannot remember any days that I didn’t have breakfast, except when I rushed to airport at 5am. On the contrary, when I am more hungry in the morning, I make something a little more heavier with carbs and protein. My favourite is avocado on toast and scrambled eggs on toast. Not only they look absolutely yummy and beautiful, they are a great balance of carbs, protein and vitamin.  Of course, I always have coffee in the morning. Black coffee. I once complained to a friend that I did not have enough time to make coffee in the morning and he said “you make time for your coffee and that’s kind of the luxury time, isn’t it?” Giving myself a good cup of coffee is essential for me to physically function but also to sniff that good morning coffee smell and feel good about starting my day.  If you feel like having breakfast is such a hustle, you can always try waking up 5 minutes, or 2 minutes early to make yourself some gorgeous breakfast and kickstart your day.

Banana Oatmeal with Berries

ingredients 

-1 cup of oatmeal

-1 cup or more of water (just enough to soak the oatmeal in the pan)

-1 table spoon of beet sugar or any sweeter of your choice

-1 ripe banana

-a splash of cinnamon

-frozen berries or fresh berries if you can

-strawberries

-honey/maple syrup


Avocado on Toast & Scrambled Eggs on Toast

 

ingredients 

(for avocado on toast)

-whole wheat bread or rye bread

-half an avocado

-a pinch of salt

-a pinch of black pepper

(for scrambled eggs on toast)

-whole wheat bread or rye bread

-2 eggs

-some butter

-a pinch of salt and black pepper

-almond milk or regular milk

(Add before the egg is almost done. This will make the scrambled eggs soft)

-some fresh basil
